Is Manual Osteopathic Therapy the same as massage?

No, Manual Osteopathic Therapy is different from Massage Therapy.

Manual Osteopathic Therapy believes in treating the patient as a whole.

Osteopathy also has a greater focus on treating complaints on every level – physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.

By working deep into the systems that make up your body, osteopathy can help work with what is causing your pain, and is not limited to what symptoms you're feeling.

Osteopathy involves the use of methods called Craniosacral Therapy, Myofascial Remodelling, Visceral Manipulation and also Osteoarticulatons. Your practitioner will determine which treatments your body needs at each session, either combining them, or providing one over the others.

Visceral Manipulation

Manual Osteopathic Therapy

Consultation is included to your treatment session.

There are four manual osteopathic techniques that will be incorporated throughout your treatment session.

These are:

  • Osteoarticulation
  • Myofascial Remodelling
  • Visceral Manipulation
  • Craniosacral Therapy
